Ryer Martial Arts Academy will be closed Thursday, October 1st through Sunday, October 4th, 2026, as our instructors and participating members travel to North Carolina for the 20th Annual Iron Mountain Camp. All classes will resume on their normal schedule Monday, October 5th.
Celebrating 20 Years of Iron Mountain Camp
This year marks a special milestone for the Counterpoint Tactical System (CTS) community as we celebrate the 20th Annual Iron Mountain Camp at Laurel Ridge Retreat & Conference Center in Laurel Springs, North Carolina.
Iron Mountain Camp brings together martial artists, instructors, and students from across the country for several days of intensive training, continued education, rank testing, and fellowship.
This year’s camp will explore the convergence of Panantukan, Stand-Up Grappling, and Kenpo Counterpoint, examining how these disciplines work together as one cohesive martial arts system. Additional training will include Taiji Chuan and Bagua Zhang.
For our instructors, attending events like Iron Mountain Camp is an important part of our commitment to professional martial arts education. The opportunity to continue learning, refining our skills, and exchanging knowledge with other experienced martial artists allows us to bring new perspectives and experiences back to our students in Pittsburgh.

We are especially excited to have 12 members of Ryer Martial Arts Academy attending this year’s camp!
Three of our members will also be testing for their next rank, including Ashwin, who will be testing for his First Degree Black Belt. This will mark the 24th First Degree Black Belt test in the history of Ryer Martial Arts Academy.
These milestones represent years of dedication, perseverance, and commitment to the martial arts. We look forward to supporting our members as they take these important steps in their training.
